Synthesis
Some people claim that PEDs should be banned
from competitive sports for the justice, meanwhile, they even suggest rewarding
the clean athletes apart from the penalties for the dirty. In competitive
sports, every participant should have an equal chance of success. As
Goodman(2012) states, “I think that athletes, as a whole, wish to complete
clean”(para.6). But unfortunately, the reality is that too often peer pressure
wins out. What’s more, in order to ban the use of PEDs in sports thoroughly, “we
should do something to reward the clean ones and give athletes an incentive to
abstain”(Bradbury, 2012, para.5). This indicates that we can cope with the
issue from different perspectives. From my perspective, it is a controversial
topic that concerns everyone and we should treat it without any bias.
